Job description
- Conduct different research work at R&D and research collaboration projects
- Build and develop bioinformatics analysis pipelines for different NGS research tests
- Implement new data analysis software and databases to current system
- Oversee the design, maintenance, and implementation of data analysis server (local server and cloud-based server)
- Collaborate with IT team to adhere to policies and procedures related to data security
- Build and develop system for test validation to fulfil accreditation (e.g. CAP) requirements
- Arrangement for preparation of documents, e.g. SOP, manuals, R&D results summary, publication and etc
- Provide training to junior Bioinformatics staffs
Requirements
- Doctoral degree 3 years’ in Genetics, Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, information systems or related field or
- Master’s degree in Genetics, Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Information Systems
or related field with at least 3years’ experience working in the bioinformatics field in industry or academic areas - Proficiency in working in Unix/Linux environment
- Hands-on experiences with large-scale genomic data (e.g., WGS, WES, targeted sequencing, etc.) in high-performance computing system is required
- Advance experiences with different programming languages: Python, R, Perl, or other languages
- Experiences in the following areas: cancer risk, somatic cancer, rare diseases, cell-free DNA sequencing, and single-cell sequencing would be an advantage
- Experiences in setting up data analysis system (e.g. analysis pipeline) for cutting-edge sequencing technology would be an advantage
- Good interpersonal, presentation and communication skills, and teamwork
- Good spoken and written Chinese and English
